Oldman Needed Help Regaining British Accent for Tinker Tailor

KEYWORD

Mike Morin

Age: 60 (2/27/51) It wasn't very nice to ask me that right off the bat!  How old are YOU?

Read my August New Hampshire magazine feature that follows my adventures on the Mt. Washington Auto Road with 8 other first-time stunt people. Could Mt. Everest be next? Come along for the ride

Have a look at my Last Laugh story in May's New Hampshire magazine. More Is Better

Check my twice-monthly humor column in the Nashua Telegraph: column

You'll find a story I wrote in the "Chicken Soup for the Soul-Christmas Magic" book.
Chicken Soup It's about how clueless I can be, right Lady Baba?

Here's my recipe from our 1st place finish in the Mac and Cheese Bake-off in Concord on 1/15/11. Get The Yum Here

Special Achievement: Raising my daughter Liz, who is now 31 and graduated cum laude from Lesley University in 2002 and of whom I am ridiculously proud. She and husband Dave live in Boston.

Birthplace: Detroit, the Motor City, baby! Home of Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, the Tigers, Motown music and Vernor's ginger ale.

The woman who makes me smile: Barbie Baker. No one can believe she's a grandmother. Boy, does Nana love her grandchildren! All 4.

Special interests/hobbies: Writing, baking bread from scratch, sneaking off to Vegas.

Favorite childhood memory: At 16, sending up some homemade UFOs made out of dry cleaners poly bags. We caused quite a stir and got covered by all the Detroit news outlets.

I've never been able to... Whistle using my fingers.

What you'll do when you get a few extra moments: Continue working on my first book, out late next summer (2012).

What would make the world better? Two things: First, parents taking their jobs more seriously and secondly: Lightening up. We take things too seriously these days. Political correctness is overrated.

When I retire from radio, I will: Do nothing but bake bread and write.

Someday I hope to abolish:The incorrect use of apostrophes.

When I grow up I wanna be... A little boy in an old man's body. Oh wait! I'm that already.

Turning point in your career: Out of 350 DJs, being chosen as one of five to work at WJOK in Washington, D.C., the nation's first all-comedy radio station in 1983.

Advice to young people just starting out: Keep a file on your boss. S/he's already got one on you.

Who is your biggest influence? Mom, Dad, Daughter Liz and a couple Detroit radio personalities.

You latest kitchen creation: Pumpkin-oatmeal-chocolate chip-pecan cookies. To DIE for!

Why you do what you do: Because I refuse to ever get a real job. Plus, I have no discernable job skills beyond going "blah blah blah."

Favorite quote: It's a cliche but my Father was always right when he told me "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar."

Tracy Caruso

Hi! I'm Tracy Caruso. I first came to work at WZID in 1996. After three years, I left to raise my son, who is now 13 years old and in middle school!  My daughter is an 11 year old fifth grader. I adore them!  I'm also engaged to the most wonderful guy in the world and have two fantastic step children in my life.

I really enjoy working on NH in the Morning with Mike and Suzanne.  Getting up at 3:15 a.m. is a bit of a challenge, though.

I live in Manchester, but grew up in Salem. I worked at a handful of radio stations before coming to Manchester. I worked as a bartender in Florida and a waitress at a casino in Arizona. I also spent a few years working in the advertising industry.

GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT: Raising two gorgeous children!

Suzanne Roantree

Hi I'm Suzanne Roantree. I live in Gilford, NH with my husband Ken, our three teen-age children, four Springer Spaniels, one cat, and two horses. Ken calls me "Ellie Mae"!

I grew up in Hillsboro, NH and then attended UNH graduating in 1984. Ken and I left NH in 1985 to move to Baltimore with a small moving truck, car in tow, and one cat. After stops in Atlanta and Philadelphia,we moved back to the Lakes Region in 1995 with the largest moving van ever made, and a mini-van filled with our children, Alex, Max,and Katy, and two cats. It's amazing what you can accomplish in just ten years!

Motherhood has been amazing adventure -- especially now with three teenagers. I think the most important thing we can accomplish as parents is to have a healthy relationship with our kids, allowing them to want to come to us with anything.

My daughter and I horseback ride -- I've been a horse nut all my life. We both compete in the Hunter/Jumper world. I'm sure my house would be a lot cleaner if we didn't spend so much time at the barn, but it was a very good show year!

I love my kids a ton and I am very proud of who they are and plan to become. Ken and I have been married since 1987.. he travels a lot, so technically, we've put in eight-years!

I've worked at radio stations all along the East Coast and I am thrilled to be with WZID! Thanks for listening!

Send me an email at Suzanne@wzid.com.
