“PARADISE BURGER”

 ¨       1 pound ground beef (I used a mixture of ¾ 90% and ¼ 80%)

¨       1½ tablespoon of finely chopped red onion

¨       1 tablespoon of crispy cooked bacon finely chopped

¨       A little less than a full tablespoon of Kosher salt

¨       ¾ cup fresh shredded Monterey Jack cheese

¨       1/3 cup BBQ sauce

¨       Fresh ground black pepper to taste (about ¼ of teaspoon because fresh has more flavor)

¨       1-2 slices of American cheese

Fold in all the ingredients except the American cheese without over mixing.  The more you mix or work ground beef, the tougher it becomes.  Cook the burger to your liking (I cooked to a thermometer of 160 degrees which is medium).  Put the American cheese on until it is melted.

¨       Kaiser roll

¨       Boston lettuce (also called “Bib” lettuce)

¨       Fresh sliced tomatoes

¨       Mayonnaise

¨       Ketchup

Toast the inside parts of the Kaiser roll once it’s cut.  Spread some mayonnaise on the bottom part of the roll and then place some lettuce.  Put the burger on the lettuce and then lay some more lettuce on the burger and tomatoes on the lettuce.  Put about 1 tablespoon of ketchup on top of the tomatoes and then put the top of the bun on.
